7 Double Standards Between Women and Men

While there is equality between races, genders and ages, there are double standards between men and women that are difficult to overcome. Some rules applied to women or men lead to inequality between the two groups. Here are some of the double standards you must have heard of.

1-The first move comes from the man
The biggest discrimination between men and women is the issue of taking the first step. Things like making the first move or asking the question are always expected from men. Men are expected to act on their emotions. Moreover, if the first move does not come from the man, that person begins to be viewed as not being man enough.

2-Women should be clean and organized
When it comes to home, it is acceptable for men to live in a more dirty and messy environment than women. Cleaning, cooking and housekeeping are seen as women's duties. Often overlooked, women often have more important jobs, such as work, family, and education.

3-Friends of the Opposite Sex
It is better accepted by society for a girl to have many boyfriends than for a man to have many girlfriends. When it comes to men, they start to doubt and question why they hang out with so many girls. But for some reason, we think it's more normal for a woman to have friends of the opposite sex.

4-Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is an ongoing social problem. Many men are in prison for abusing their wives, but women don't show their anger that way. Men need to give up on this.

5-30 Years Alone
When women reach a certain age, they are expected to marry and have children. For this reason, when you reach the age of 30, people try to direct you to marriage. Compared to women, it can be considered normal for men to remain single until their 40s.

6-Deception
When we look at relationships, men become idiots when they lose the trust of women. When the opposite happens, women begin to question themselves and say that they are the unloved part of the relationship.

7-Ex-Valentines
Men often get lots of applause and compliments thanks to their long list of exes. They make it a show of strength. If women have had many ex-lovers, they are viewed as disloyal and worthless with everyone.

Double standards can be really surprising. Every gender is under pressure from society because of what is expected of them. What other double standards do you know of? Share your comments with us.
