First Scoliosis Baby Doll Released

The world-famous toy brand Barbie adds a new one to the projects it carries out within the scope of inclusivity and diversity. Introducing Chelsea, who has scoliosis, to the market, the brand aims to raise awareness in children. 

Barbie, the toy brand that children have been playing with for 63 years, is breaking new ground with its new collection. The famous toy company Mattel has released a new Barbie doll, this time with scoliosis.

Barbie's manufacturer, Mattel, has released a new doll from Barbie's little sister, Chelsea, with a curved spine and removable back support.

Board-certified neurosurgeon Dr. Working closely with Luke Macyszyn, the famous brand aims to normalize the apparatus with the latest member of the Barbie family and encourage children to celebrate inclusivity.

"We believe in the power of representation and are committed to creating dolls in a variety of looks so kids can see themselves in Barbie, and now it's time to celebrate Barbie's little sister, Chelsea," said Lisa McKnight, Mattel vice president and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls.

The new version of Chelsea, who is about 15 centimeters tall, wears a pink dress with removable green back support and white shoes. The baby's brown hair is given a wavy shape.

On the other hand, Mattel produced Barbie, who wears hearing aids, and Ken, who has vitiligo, within the scope of projects carried out within the scope of inclusion and diversity.

In previous collections, different body types and skin colors were also included.

Lisa McKnight, one of the executives of Mattel company, stated that she believes in the power of representation of the Barbie brand and will include as many different skin colors, body types and ailments as possible.
