How to Clean a Juice Extractor?

If you want to squeeze fresh fruit or vegetable juice in your home, you can do this with the help of a juicer or an alternatively used blender.

Juicers are an important item that is used regularly by people who do sports and take care of a healthy diet. It can be drunk by squeezing the juice of more than one fruit or vegetable variety by using a solid fruit and vegetable juicer. Thus, fruit and vegetable juicers can always keep their place in the kitchen.

One of the fastest and most beneficial ways to consume fruits and vegetables before they start to rot is to evaluate these fruits and vegetables by squeezing their juice. In this way, the bad appearance and odor caused by spoiled fruits or vegetables is prevented. In this article, we will tell you step by step how to clean the juicer, which can not only squeeze fruits such as oranges, tangerines, apples, pears and pomegranates, but also vegetables such as cabbage, celery, salad and tomatoes.

Cleaning the Juicer by Hand
Before starting the cleaning process, unplug your juicer, that is, you should cut off the energy flow. As you know, juicers consist of several parts. The engine part is located under the main body of the juicer. For this reason, the outer part of the main body is not cleaned. One of the most polluted parts of the juicer is the container where the pulp of the naturally squeezed fruit and vegetable is collected. Another parts of the juicer are the fruit pusher, the top cover, the filter housing, the juice spout, the juice jug, the foam separator and the stainless filter. You can find cleaning methods for all of these parts in our following steps.

Before starting the cleaning process, after making sure that the juicer is unplugged, we carefully separate all the parts of the juicer from each other and place them on the counter. Take care to remove the parts of the juicer as described in the manufacturer's user manual. Otherwise, you can break parts, damage them and even hurt yourself with a wrong move. Therefore, we recommend that you read the user manual carefully and do it as shown.

After carefully separating all the parts of the juicer, we wet the fruit pusher under warm water immediately and clean the remaining particles on it.

After this process, some fruit pulp may accumulate inside the top cover. Pour them all into a bag with the help of your hand. Then drain the top cover under the tap. During washing, rub the inside of the cover thoroughly with your hand and clean the sticking pulp well.

You can do the next cleaning in the juice jug. The juices of the squeezed fruits and vegetables foam during the squeezing process and this foam sticks to the body of the jug. To get rid of this foam stain, quickly rinse the jug under warm water without waiting and wash it well. If necessary, it can be cleaned well with the soft part of the dish sponge with liquid detergent dripped.

After this process, carefully separate the filter housing you removed from the juice tap (if it is detachable). Then wash the filter carefully under warm water.

The most important job in the juicer is the chopper filter, which is usually made of stainless steel. This Stainless steel filter consists of fine pores combined with cutting blades. It is quite easy to clean the Cutting Blades under the tap, but this process alone is not a sufficient method as there are fine pores. For an effective solution, we recommend using a small brush with hard wires. While straining the stainless steel filter under warm water, you should also clean the small holes with the help of the brush in your hand. In this way, you will see that all the holes of the cutting blades are drilled.

Some liquid may remain on the main body where the motor is located. However, if you try to wash the main body with water, water will most likely leak into the main body. If water gets inside the engine, it causes the machine to become unusable. You can clean the liquids remaining on the Main Body with the help of paper towels before you start using your machine.

Cleaning the Juicer in the Dishwasher
After making sure that your juicer is unplugged, carefully separate the parts. It consists of parts that can be cleaned by washing in the dishwasher after separating the parts of the juicer. However, in order to be sure of this method, carefully read the warnings in the manufacturer's user manual. We must act in accordance with the warnings.
After carefully removing all the parts from the juicer. If there is a large amount of fruit or vegetable pulp residues, clean them by hand and throw them in a garbage bag.
Carefully place the removed parts in the dishwasher.
After placing the parts, run your dishwasher in the Low temperature program.

Solid Fruit Vegetable Juicer Color Changing Plastics

Some fruits, such as carrots, can discolor some plastic parts of the juicer.
In this case, you can clean the plastic parts that have changed color by first putting some vegetable oil in a container and dipping a cloth in this container and wiping the plastic parts with the help of this cloth.

Tips
The cleaning process actually comes from not getting too dirty. Unfortunately, it is not possible to use the juicer without soiling it. However, by placing a bag of fruit or vegetable pulp in the collection container, you can directly throw away the accumulated pulp with this method, and you do not need to clean the collection container thanks to this method.

Warnings
Before you start to clean the juicer (citrus) and vegetable juicer, you should make sure that you unplug it from the socket.
After separating all the parts of your juicer, you can do this with the help of a dish sponge with a drop of liquid detergent while cleaning all parts under the running tap with lukewarm water. However, be careful to use the soft side of the sponge while doing this. Otherwise, you may cause the plastic or glass parts of your juicer to be scratched.
Be careful that you rinse the parts you clean with the help of liquid detergent under intense water. The next time you juice a fruit or vegetable, detergent residues that remain on the parts and that cannot be cleaned may dissolve in the juice and adversely affect the health of the person drinking the juice you have prepared.
When cleaning the parts of your juicer, be very careful when touching the sharp blades. Otherwise, you may cut yourself or injure yourself.
