Switching to natural shampoos is great for you and your environment. You can try one of the homemade coconut oil shampoo recipes on our list to pamper your hair without going over your budget. Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid . Its derivative, sodium lauryl sulfate, is a natural cleanser often used in commercially available shampoos. Coconut oil nourishes your hair deeply as it can penetrate the hair shaft. It also keeps your hair strong.

Therefore, it is a good idea to use coconut oil based shampoos for hair. Check out the recipes below and make your own shampoo at home.

EASY HOMEMADE COCONUT SHAMPOO

Materials

    ¾ cup of water
    ½ cup castile soap
    2 teaspoons of table salt
    2 tablespoons of coconut oil
    2 teaspoons of jojoba oil
    20 drops of coconut oil

How is it done?
Heat the water a little in the pot. Pour Castile soap into it and mix gently without making too much foam. Add the salt and mix well. Finally, add the oils and mix until well mixed. Store this in a squeeze bottle and use as needed.

MOISTURIZING PH BALANCED SHAMPOO
The pH of the hair fiber is 3.7, while the pH of the scalp is around 5.5. Shampoos should not be higher or lower than these two levels . One study showed that about 68% of shampoos have a pH level higher than 5.5, which is not good for scalp health.

An imbalance in pH levels can lead to fungal or bacterial infections. Most hair care products contain alkaline chemicals. As a result, pH levels rise and the alkali in shampoos reacts with natural sebum (acidic). Here's how to make a pH balanced shampoo.

Materials
    ½ cup of coconut oil
¾ cup of aloe vera gel
20 drops of any scented essential oil

How is it done?
Mix the oils and gel in a bowl with a wire whisk. Pour this into a jar and refrigerate.

The shampoo does not create soapy suds because it does not contain baking soda or liquid soap, both of which increase the alkalinity of the mixture. But it can be applied in the same way. The chilled mixture is thick and has a pudding-like consistency. Massaging your scalp removes dirt and also improves blood circulation, which increases hair thickness. You can wash the shampoo with water. If you think your hair is greasy, wash it with a glass of apple cider vinegar.

VARIOUS BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL
    It reduces hair loss.
It improves the quality of the hair and strengthens the roots.
It helps to cool the scalp. If the scalp sweats too much, sweat and sebum combine with dandruff and dirt to form a thick, smelly layer of rash on the scalp. This damages the hair and prevents natural oils from reaching the ends of the hair. As a result, you have lifeless, malnourished hair. Coconut oil shampoo reduces sweating and also helps get rid of dandruff.
Coconut oil helps retain moisture. If you live in a hot climate, the moisture in your hair evaporates easily. Dry, frizzy hair is very normal in these conditions. Using coconut oil prevents this.
