Dandruff is a common skin condition that is accompanied by itching and flaking of the skin on the scalp. Dandruff is not contagious and although rarely serious, it is an embarrassing and recurring condition when treated. Here are natural solutions for dandruff.

1. Baking Powder
Baking soda acts as a mild exfoliant that helps remove dead skin and excess oil from the scalp. Baking soda baths were found to significantly reduce itching. However , excessive use of baking soda can destroy your scalp's natural oils and worsen the condition of dry scalp.


Materials
    2-3 tablespoons of baking powder

Instructions
    Apply baking soda directly to wet hair.
    Leave it for about 2 minutes and wash your hair thoroughly.
    Do this twice a week.


2. ONION JUICE
Studies show that onion extracts have anti-fungal properties that inhibit the growth of Malassezia furfur.

Materials
    ½ whole onion

Instructions
    Stir in the onion and extract the juice.
    Strain the liquid and apply generously to your scalp.
    Leave it for an hour and wash your hair.
    Repeat this twice a week.


3. LEMON OIL
Lemongrass oil has anti -fungal properties that can help fight Malassezia furfur , a type of yeast that causes dandruff.

Materials
    2-3 drops of lemon oil

Instructions
    Add lemongrass oil to your shampoo and
    Massage this mixture into your scalp.
    Wash your hair thoroughly with plain water.
    Repeat this twice a week

Note : If you have a sensitive scalp, applying lemongrass oil topically can cause an allergic reaction. Do a patch test before trying this solution.


4. EUCALYPTUS OIL
A scalp with low levels of ceramides may be susceptible to dandruff. Anecdotal evidence suggests that eucalyptus oil can increase the ceramide content of your scalp, thereby reducing dandruff.

Materials
    2-3 drops of eucalyptus oil
    2-3 drops of coconut oil

Instructions
    Mix eucalyptus oil with coconut oil.
    Apply this oil mixture to your scalp.
    Leave it for 30-45 minutes and wash your hair thoroughly with plain water.
    Do this 2-3 times a week.


5. GARLIC
Studies show that garlic has anti-fungal effects on Malassezia furfur , and long-term intake can help relieve dandruff.

Materials
    few cloves of garlic
    ½ cup of olive oil

Instructions
    Peel and crush the garlic cloves.
    Add the crushed garlic to a saucepan with olive oil.
    Heat the mixture for 5 minutes.
    Strain and leave to cool.
    Apply to your scalp and leave for 30-45 minutes before rinsing.
    Repeat this twice a week.
