If you're talking in your sleep, alarm bells are ringing!

You may have caught that incurable disease.

Many people talk in their sleep. Half of all children aged 3 to 10 and a small proportion of adults (about 5%) talk while they sleep. Sleep talking can happen occasionally or every night. But did you know that adults talking in their sleep is a sign of illness?

There isn't a lot of research on sleep talking. Once it is recognized as a disorder, research can be done. However, it made the classification just a normality rather than a disorder. This is why people know less about sleep talking than they should. It's true that sleep talking doesn't often mean that much. In some cases, sleep talking can be a sign of certain diseases or mental problems. Talking in your sleep can be a symptom of some diseases.

IF YOU TALK IN YOUR SLEEP, IT MEANS ALARM BELLS ARE RINGING! YOU MAY HAVE SURVIVED THAT REMEDIABLE DISEASE.
Talking while sleeping is especially common in primary school children. About half of these kids tell all the stories in their sleep, and that's perfectly normal. As parents, you've probably already noticed this and were able to laugh at it when you had breakfast in the morning. Sleep talking is much more difficult to notice in adults. Normally people find out if they are talking in their sleep in their 20s because this is usually the age when people share a bed for the first time. Even then, people only realize it when they lie awake next to their partner. Again, talking in your sleep doesn't have to mean much, but it's a symptom of some diseases so you have to be careful. Adults talk much less in their sleep. If they talk in their sleep, something serious could happen: an early sign of Parkinson's disease or dementia.

YOU MUST CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Have you ever talked in your sleep but suddenly started talking when you turned 50? This could mean something is not right. When you start dreaming aloud, it could mean something is wrong with your brain, says Rafael Pelayo, a Sleep Medicine researcher at Stanford Health. He says it could possibly be a symptom of dementia or Parkinson's disease. When this happens, she recommends seeing a doctor as soon as possible to find out if you have any disease.

SLEEP TALKING MAY ALSO BE CAUSED FROM DEPRESSION
Speaking during sleep every night isn't necessarily a guarantee for dementia or Parkinson's disease. Talking in your sleep can also be caused by stress, fear, and depression, according to James Rowley of the Detroit Medical Center. Rowley notes that it's wise to see a doctor when talking in your sleep, coupled with anxious dreams, recurring nightmares, or sleep apnea. It may indicate that you have a sleep disorder caused by an underlying mental problem. However, in most cases, talking in your sleep is completely innocent and not related to any illness or mental issue.
