Laughter Yoga

Laughter yoga, which can also be called laughter therapy, was developed by Dr. A technique introduced by Madan Kataria in 1995. Kataria created this practice by combining various laughter exercises with yoga breathing techniques called pranayama.

 He even founded the first laughter club in this direction with five people in a park in Mumbai. Today, clubs that practice laughter yoga are divided into thousands of options in more than seventy countries. Laughter yoga is based on the brain's inability to distinguish between real and fake laughter. For example, when we think of eating a lemon, our mouth involuntarily waters remembering that sour feeling. For this, we do not necessarily have to eat lemon at that moment. Here, the yoga of laughter is based on the inability to distinguish this difference.

We already know that laughter is contagious. When there is a person who laughs with laughter next to us, his laughter can infect us after a while and for no reason. Laughter exercises in laughter yoga are also practiced without any humor or reason. In other words, the techniques in this app teach us how to laugh for no reason. When breathing techniques are included, more oxygen is supplied to both the brain and the body. Thus, it is possible to feel more cheerful and energetic at the end of each application. Laughter yoga is a practice that is thought to provide positive effects in the fight against stress and various diseases. In addition, since the muscles in the abdominal region are actively working, calories can be spent while laughing.
