YouTube is adjusting and changing its existing rules so that new creators can monetize.
Being a YouTuber is now very popular in the new world. The platform also seems to reinforce this situation by closing the distance between content producers and content a little more.
Before the changes to YouTube's partner program, a YouTube creator needed at least a thousand subscribers, but now he only needs 500 subscribers.
He must also have made three public uploads in the last 90 days and watched 3,000 hours in the last 12 months or watched 3 million Shorts in the last 90 days. Previously, it required either 4,000 hours of views in the last 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.
But to monetize ads, creators will still have to follow the old rules. YouTube explains: “As these creators continue to grow their channels, once they meet the current eligibility criteria, they will automatically be eligible for ad revenue sharing and even more benefits without having to go through the application process again. ”
YouTube said the new eligibility criteria for YPP primarily apply to creators in the US, UK, Canada, Taiwan and South Korea, and other countries will receive the same changes over time.
